Flabbergastic
When astonishment becomes too big for ordinary language.
Flabbergastic (adj.)
Pronunciation: / flab-er-GAS-tik /
Etymology: Flabbergast (shock beyond words) + Fantastic (extraordinary, almost unreal)
Definition: Something or someone so astonishing, surreal, unexpectedly absurd, or spiritually on-point that it transcends ordinary surprise into the ineffable. A heightened state where shock, timing, humor, wonder, and emotional overload collide within someone all at once.
Examples:
She became so flabbergastic trying to explain the synchronicity that she kept stopping mid-sentence just to laugh in disbelief and awe.
What made the moment flabbergastic wasn’t just the synchronicity, but how precise the timing was.
I sat there in complete flabbergastic silence while The Universe carried on like this was normal.
I opened my phone to vent about feeling invisible... and then a notification popped up and said: You are seen. The Universe has flabbergastic timing!
By the time the third confirmation appeared back-to-back, he was visibly flabbergastic and questioning whether reality was improvising around him.
In an Aura Glow: Some moments and people don’t feel ordinary. They arrive with such precision, timing, and emotional weight that language itself has to stretch to hold them. Flabbergastic is what happens when astonishment becomes an entire state of being..
Author’s Note: In a TikTok video, I said how God flows through everything... even pen and paper. Then, right before I uploaded it, I heard a song playing outside. Of course, I had to Shazam it. The song was by Usher and it was called, “That’s What It’s Made For.”
As I was adding this section to the video, I asked if the viewer was flabbergastic… just like me… and now, here we are!
I just had to actknowledge how it all transpired! I acted on the “slip up” and applied that knowledge to create this new Glowcabulary word.☺
Blueprints to a vision:
Preate ⟶ Pen + Paper ⟶ Create
This is a spiritual equation for artists, writers, inventors, visionaries and storytellers. If you really think about it, we follow this blueprint often... if not daily.
Pen + Paper is not limited to ink and notebooks... it represents the act of translating vision into form.
